Amortization schedule for personal loans with interest and missed payment calculations. This template includes calculations for extra payments to the principal and offers automatic calculations with entry of loan amount, simple interest rate, length of loan, and start date.
A running loan schedule that allows for extra payments and missed payments. All you need to know is Loan Amount, Simple Interest Rate, Length of loan in years, and loan start date. It shows a self adjusting Amortization schedule that adds interest to the principal if you miss a payment and subtracts from principal extra payments. Great for personal loans. Just stretch things down for a loan longer than 3 years. (Doesn't do compound interest)
Your math is wrong on this spread sheet, it does not compute the daily rate of interest correctly as extra payments are made.
I agree! this schedule is showing different calculations from my old one. How do I fix it?
Shouldn’t the reference cell for each month’s interest be whatever the current outstanding principal balance is? It appears each interest calculation is referencing the original loan amount regardless of whether extra payments were made. That seems wrong.
I THINK (not an expert) the solution is to change the reference from “$B$9” to Column:J, Row:Previous Month’s Balance. Then copy and paste that formula for each cell in Column J by dragging the corner of the cell down the rest of the column.

“Just stretch things down for a loan longer than 3 years”… Can someone please expound on this for me? I am tracking a 4 year payoff plan and do not understand how to stretch things down or find the formula so the rest of the spreadsheet will track on another 12 months of payments. Thank you.
