Pages a Word Processing software similar to Microsoft Word and a Page Layout software similar to Microsoft Publisher. It also has very robust vector graphics design tools similar to Adobe illustrator. Apple released the first version of Pages back in 2006 alongside Keynote, a presentation slides program, in the first version of the productivity suite called iWork.
Primarily, Pages is used for creating documents like letters, memos, and meeting agenda-type documents. However, you can also create postcards, flyers, and newsletters because of its page layout capabilities. Recently, Apple released a new feature that allows for Pages to be more deeply integrated with iBooks so that authors can create more books to be sold in the iBooks store.
The beauty of Pages is that it is designed for everyone. Anyone who has looked at a computer before knows exactly what they are supposed to do with a blank screen and a blinking cursor. It’s the perfect place for a first draft at expressing your thoughts and ideas. This is an Apple product, it’s for anyone who wishes to explore their creative side. Pages has plenty of options to create beautiful documents for almost any occasion.
There have been many Word processing software released over the years, however, only three have really stood the test of time: Microsoft Word, Google Docs, and Apple Pages. Each one has its strengths and weaknesses and each has borrowed ideas from the other. However, since I have a bent towards creativity and design I’m going to choose Pages over the others because of its graphics capabilities.
Here at iWork Community, we have had Mac Pages templates available for download since we started in 2008. People love coming to our site in search of great templates that can easily help them. However, we don’t have every single template out there. There are several great companies that also offer Pages Templates for free and for a price. Here are a few of our favorites!
Free iWork Templates
Free iWork Templates has been around for a long time—almost as long as we have been. They have hundreds of custom-designed documents. You can see their Mac Pages Templates, Numbers Templates, and Keynote Themes for yourself.
They don’t seem to specialize in any sort of typos of template, however, they have some for business/office use as well as the home.

template.net has a huge repository of templates not only for Pages, but also for Keynote and Numbers as well as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and many others.
If you are looking for something for the office or corporate setting this place is for you.
While they do offer some free templates many of them are available for a fee, and they do offer a very reasonable subscription plan.

Envato is an umbrella brand over many online services like tutsplus.com, graphicriver.com, and many others.
A few years ago they launched a subscription service, called Envato Elements, that offered many of their popular items from their brands.
This is my favorite online resource. I’ve been a member for nearly 5 years now and I haven’t looked back I use their graphics and templates all the time.
They do offer some Pages templates, but not a lot and you have to hunt for them as it’s not obvious which ones do or do not also come with a Pages version of the file.
Honestly, if you aren’t needing to make several documents per month I wouldn’t bother but if you are like me, it’s a must-have.

Stock Layouts is an excellent resource for Pages Templates. Like Envato and template.net they carry mostly business and corporate use templates that are perfect for business and not nearly as many templates that would be useful for home or personal use.
They have a unique system in which they make one design and have it available for download in multiple formats for different software. For instance, the same template could be downloaded both in Pages and Word formats. This makes it great for business settings when many different people have different preferences for the software they use.

Bonus! Jumpsoft – Toolbox for Pages
Jumpsoft’s Toolbox for Pages isn’t really a website, but an app available on Mac and iOS, but I thought it would be fun to include it anyway.
This toolbox includes 1000s of templates and design elements for Pages that make creating your documents a breeze. Just download the app and search for cool elements you want to add to your documents. It’s that simple.
From time to time they will offer different graphics packs that cost $1.99 or so, but for the most part, it is free.
