iWork on the iPad

Breaking News - Apple is releasing a new version of iWork to run on the new iPad that they have just announced. The new user interface is completely optimized for the touchscreen on the iPad. New version of Keynote, Pages, and Numbers are in the works.

The iPad has just been announced, starting at $499 USD for a 16GB version, up to $829 for a 64GB version with 3G.

The photos and descriptions that you can find around the web are quite compelling - the only concern for me is the touch-screen keyboard, which might not be the most fun for typing long documents. As it turns out, however, there's going to be a dock with a built-in keyboard to use for typing, so that shouldn't be a big problem.

Each of the iWork apps will be available (separately) on the App Store for $9.99, presumably as soon as you can get your hands on the iPad.
